Chicken and waffles, a classic, but what if we told you it was possible to eat a load of it, smothered in BBQ sauce, and it be less than 500 calories? Well one of our ambassadors, Adam, is here to tell you it's possible - what a time to be alive. He's done all the work so we don't have to (thanks Adam) and now you can make it too, so lets get into it 🤤
First the chicken...🍗
- Get your hands on 400g of chicken breast and cut it into strips
- Then you'll need 20g flour, 1 beaten egg, 40g grated parmesan and 110g breadcrumbs
- Coat the strips with flour, then give them a good dunk in the egg, followed by the combo of breadcrumbs and parmesan
- Chuck them in the oven at 180C for around 18-20 minutes
Then the waffles 😍
- In a pan, add 150ml milk and 30g butter and heat until the butter melts
- Separate the yolk and the whites of 2 eggs
- Whisk up the yolks and add to the milk mix
- In a separate bowl, combine 160g plain flour, 6g baking powder, salt and pepper
- Add the milk mixture to the dry ingredients and fold together
- Whisk up the egg whites into stiff peaks and fold into the mixture
- Chuck it in a waffle maker and let that finish the job for you!
