Recipe: BBQ Chicken & Waffles Under 500 calories!

Chicken and waffles, a classic, but what if we told you it was possible to eat a load of it, smothered in BBQ sauce, and it be less than 500 calories? Well one of our ambassadors, Adam, is here to tell you it's possible - what a time to be alive. He's done all the work so we don't have to (thanks Adam) and now you can make it too, so lets get into it 🤤


First the chicken...🍗

  • Get your hands on 400g of chicken breast and cut it into strips
  • Then you'll need 20g flour, 1 beaten egg, 40g grated parmesan and 110g breadcrumbs
  • Coat the strips with flour, then give them a good dunk in the egg, followed by the combo of breadcrumbs and parmesan
  • Chuck them in the oven at 180C for around 18-20 minutes

Then the waffles 😍

  • In a pan, add 150ml milk and 30g butter and heat until the butter melts
  • Separate the yolk and the whites of 2 eggs
  • Whisk up the yolks and add to the milk mix
  • In a separate bowl, combine 160g plain flour, 6g baking powder, salt and pepper
  • Add the milk mixture to the dry ingredients and fold together
  • Whisk up the egg whites into stiff peaks and fold into the mixture
  • Chuck it in a waffle maker and let that finish the job for you!

All that's left to do is get generous with our BBQ sauce and tuck in - so good and only 499 calories, winning 👊🏼
